“It’s pretty good. By Canadian standards,” my Toronto colleague told me when I mentioned that I was planning a trip to go visit the Hockey Hall of Fame (ou, Le Temple de la Renommee du Hockey, en Francais). “It’s not Canton.”
Before I even set foot in the HoF, I knew what he meant. I approached a gorgeous old bank building, only to discover that the entrance was around the corner, in a mall-like foyer. And then, I had no idea where to go. Turns out I’d missed a sign that instructed me to go left and find…the escalators…down. Don’t get me wrong, the modern building that has been built around the old one is stunning. I just wasn’t expecting the escalator ride to the entrance.
But for hockey fans – of which I am most definitely one – it doesn’t matter. There is a lot of hockey history on…
